Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Ehya Sepahan Iron Ore Mines Company
As part of its commitment to improving equipment efficiency and elevating maintenance standards, Ehya Sepahan Iron Ore Mines Company has implemented a comprehensive Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The primary objective of this project is to automate preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment condition monitoring—particularly within Phase Four of the production facilities.
Project Implementation Phases
1. Software Deployment in Phase Four
The project began with the installation and launch of the CMMS in Phase Four of the production plants. This phase served as a pilot to evaluate the system’s performance in a real operational environment, with insights gained to guide future rollouts.
2. Equipment Definition by Maintenance and Electrical Units
A critical step involved identifying and registering key production equipment in the system. Maintenance and electrical teams collaborated to categorize vital assets and input technical data, enabling more precise planning and control of maintenance activities.
3. Data Entry and Pilot Testing
Following equipment registration, the team initiated data entry and pilot testing of the software. This phase allowed for performance evaluation in live conditions, identification of potential issues, process refinement, and user training.
Expected Outcomes
The implementation of CMMS at Ehya Sepahan is expected to deliver substantial benefits, including:
- Improved equipment reliability through well-planned preventive maintenance
- Reduced emergency downtime and repair costs via timely issue detection
- Creation of a comprehensive equipment database with easy access to maintenance history
- Enhanced managerial decision-making through analytical and statistical reporting
- Increased production line efficiency by minimizing unexpected breakdowns and delays
