Pre-Processing Device Product

The feed entering the device is placed on the drum according to the operating mechanism of the local separator devices. Depending on the drum’s gauss level, the number and arrangement of magnets, the drum’s diameter, the type of magnetic covering sheet, the drum’s rotation speed (RPM), and the amount of feed placed on the drum (i.e., the feed gate opening), different product and tailings outputs are obtained.

The Quality Control Unit is responsible for monitoring this process and obligates the contractor to optimize the device in order to prevent iron loss in the tailings (iron waste) and to improve product quality (minimizing iron content in the tailings). For each product stockpile during transportation, a dedicated personnel is assigned and stationed. Status reports from contractors are then submitted to the Complex Management for review.

Screening and Crushing Lines

Even when the pre-processing products from separator devices are fully optimized, some amount of tailings may still enter the product due to various factors, which is referred to as product loss. The processing lines are responsible for improving product quality, creating the desired grading for the wet processing stage, and reducing the amount of tailings present in the product as much as possible. This process ultimately increases the product’s grade.

The Quality Control Unit assigns dedicated personnel on a daily and continuous basis to collect samples for testing. The results of these tests determine the device’s operating efficiency and the necessary optimizations for achieving higher product quality.

Purchased Loads

In addition to the products obtained from the company’s own mines, in order to meet the feed requirements of the concentrate plant, the company also purchases products from other mines. The Quality Control Unit plays the most important role in evaluating these purchased loads. Initially, a precise sample is taken from the product stockpile. If the test results are positive, the company proceeds with purchasing from that stockpile, and the outcomes of these tests determine the price and continuation of the contract.

Concentrate Plant

All of the aforementioned materials are ultimately transported to the concentrate plants of the company. At every stage in the plant—including feed input, tailings, and product—the Quality Control Unit continuously collects samples and forwards them to the respective contractor for review and action.

Outgoing Loads

At the final stage, the Quality Control Unit, in coordination with the customer’s representative, takes samples from the product stockpile for the sale of concentrate products. After determining the moisture content and grade, the results are sent to the complex management for invoicing and settlement.
