Design and Supervision Office; From Extraction Plans to Exploration in Untouched and Mined Lands
The Design and Supervision Office of Extraction operates under the Planning Department, which is part of the Technical, Engineering, and Planning Unit. The activities of this office are divided into three main areas: preparing extraction plans, conducting exploration during extraction, and supervising contractor performance. Below is a brief overview of these activities.

Preparation of Extraction Plans
Annual extraction plans are prepared for operating mines, and in special cases, for other lands and areas. The required maps for these plans are also developed accordingly.
Continuous Monitoring of Contractor Performance for Mineral Resource Conservation
The office ensures ongoing monitoring of contractor performance to safeguard mineral reserves and optimize extraction efficiency.
Exploration Activities in Untouched and Previously Mined Lands
In the exploration section, the Design and Supervision Office conducts and implements exploration grids in both untouched lands and areas previously mined in past years. This process identifies extractable lands as well as non-mineral-bearing lands. Extractable lands are introduced to contractors for mineral extraction, while non-mineral-bearing lands are designated for waste dumping, land leveling, or revegetation depending on conditions. Additionally, when deeper exploration is required, powder drilling equipment is utilized.

The contractor activity monitoring section is also considered one of the most important activities of the design unit. This is done by continuously visiting pre-processing contractors, and as a result, the contractors’ extraction process, waste disposal sites, prevention of mineral waste, boundaries and boundaries between mines, and the mine life are monitored in accordance with the annual mining extraction plan.
